David Clark: Our Course Coordinator

David Clark is our main Course Coordinator here at Youth Finance Brighton. He's the person who makes sure all our lessons are clear, useful, and make sense for young people. David has been with us from the very beginning, helping build our practical courses from the ground up.

He really believes that learning about money shouldn't be complicated or boring. That's why he works hard to keep all our topics real and easy to understand. We don't use any fancy words or confusing terms, just straightforward talk about things like saving up, managing your budget, and what happens when you borrow money. He wants everyone to leave our workshops feeling much more confident about handling their own money.

Before joining Youth Finance Brighton, David spent several years working in a local credit union right here in Brighton. He saw first-hand how many young people struggled with understanding even the basic rules of money. This experience truly motivated him to get involved with our mission. He felt there was a big gap between what schools teach and what young adults actually need to know when they start living independently.

As Course Coordinator, David is always looking for the best ways to teach. He regularly reviews our course materials, talks with local schools and youth groups, and gathers feedback from our students. He makes sure our lessons on topics like student loans, understanding rent agreements, and even just setting up a basic bank account are always current and simple to follow. He's also often the friendly face leading our popular 'Budgeting Basics' workshops.

When David isn't busy planning courses or running sessions, you might find him out walking his dog along the Brighton seafront or cheering on Brighton & Hove Albion (the Seagulls) at a match. He lives locally and genuinely cares about giving young people in our community a solid financial start. He often says, "Knowing how money works isn't some extra skill; it's just common sense everyone deserves to learn early on."
